5 Stars || ARC || Amazon + Goodreads || Contemporary Romance
Thank you Naomi Loud for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Since Naomi Loud began posting about On the Line, I have been obsessed and when I was able to snag an arc I was giddy. You ever feel so excited about something that when it happens you hope you aren’t massively let down? Yeah, I was not disappointed. This book, this book, this book. . .I absolutely loved it. The writing is sooooo good, like so good. The romance and chemistry between James and Ozzy is electric, it’s truly perfect friends with benefits to absolute love, that I’ve read in forever. Every moment of this book, I was here for it and didn’t want it to end. So, so, so good.

James is a rich girl with a problem, get the degree chosen by her wealthy father or she’s cut off. . .she chooses her passions over her families wealth. When she goes looking for a job, she lands a server position at a fine dining restaurant where Ozzy, the line cook catches her eye both as a friend and waaaay more, like spicy more. And from the moment these two slip into each others orbit it is delicious, heart-mending beauty.
What starts out as friendly flirting, soon becomes friends with all the sexy benefits that threaten to consume them and completely change their lives and omg, I was obsessed. As the reader I knew that I knew that I absolutely knew that these two were going to unravel for each other, but watching as they each find their way to where we as the reader already know they’re going to end up because they’re freaking perfect for each other. . .it’s everything. Also, he totally falls first and it is sublime.
The spice is spicy in this book, like crazy spicy. The darkness and trauma that has happened to each of them is a lot at times but never overwhelms the story to the point where it’s difficult to read, it’s nicely balanced and works really well. And the ending. . .it’s perfect.
On the Line is one of my favorite books of 2024. I can’t recommend it enough, there’s something about it and Naomi Loud’s writing that is magic, pure magic. Now, I’m off to order this for my keeper shelf and read all of Loud’s other books.
